Hi all, I’ve been coaching at the club since the boys were U8's, stepping in to help with the Reds when the club needed someone.
In 2023 I also joined the AFC Kesgrave committee as Press, Media & Comms Officer, it has been a real eye opener seeing the amount of hard work that goes on, off the pitch to keep a club like ours running. I’m primarily responsible for the clubs social media channels, marketing, website etc.
I have played Saturday and Sunday football for various clubs around the Essex area, before settling in Kesgrave around 10 years ago where I signed for Kesgrave Kestrels Vets for whom I played for, for around 7 years.
I’m a lifelong West Ham fan ⚒️ and have a real passion for coaching. I’m really excited to see how the boys develop this season!
Matt Miller
I have been coaching the reds since U8’s. I play for the AFC Kesgrave veterans team and also have my youngest son playing for the U8’s this year and also help out with coaching them so it’s quite a family affair.
I am a passionate coach and love to see the development of the boys. This year will be very different with the bigger pitch, off sides and extra 2 players per side so lots for them to grasp but it’s exciting.
Want to help make them competitive but enjoying it at the same time and having lots of fun. Looking forward to the new season and seeing what the boys can achieve⚽️
Pete Sibthorp
Hi I am Pete. My son joined AFC under 8’s blues and I joined the coaching staff a few months afterwards. My wife and I split our Saturdays watching our youngest son play for the under 8’s and then rushing to see our eldest play for the under 10’s. My daughters are not so keen at getting up early but always support the boys when they can, it’s always a busy Saturday !!
I have always loved football and played for local teams when I was younger and into my 30’s, I hung up my playing boots years ago, but seeing my boys playing for a great team reminds me of when I was their age. It’s friendship that matters and seeing the boys progress this season as one team is something we as coaches are passionate about. It’s certainly going to be a learning curve for the boys and coaches as stepping up to bigger pitches , bigger balls and offside is something we aren’t used to.
The boys always stick together come rain or shine and I’m looking forward to helping Stu, Matt and Michael coach the boys next season .
As coaches we have all completed the FA safeguarding certification and we are always here to help parents and boys so feel to contact any of us and we will always help.
Michael Snow
Hi everyone I’m Michael, my son has been with the club from day 1 in u8’s blue, so I’ve been on the sidelines cheering on the blues since then.
Last season I started to help out Ed and Pete where I could, this season I’m stepping into coaching for the first time and can’t wait to get started.
I’m a South Londoner, so I obviously support the best team in South London (Crystal Palace). I’m a family man, my wife and my boys are my absolute world.
I’m easy going and quite relaxed, looking forward to working with Stu, Pete and Matt and seeing what great things the boys can achieve this season ⚽️
